This year’s Annual Community Food Share Resource Fair, held on May 11th, was a fantastic opportunity to connect community members with vital resources and services. We were thrilled to see 291 attendees enjoying the sunny day at Clinica Family Health in Lafayette. From pickling demonstrations to plant giveaways, facepainting to acupuncture sessions, the fair was packed with activities aimed at improving the well-being of our community. This year we had 23 different organizations and community partners participate, the most we’ve ever had!

I loved the live music at the start of the fair! It really added a wonderful feeling to the event.”

To understand how well we met our goals and to gather feedback, we conducted a survey of attendees. We sent out 130 survey invitations and received responses from twenty-three households, giving us valuable insights into what worked well and where we can improve. Here’s what we learned:

  • High Satisfaction: 100% of attendees reported being extremely or somewhat satisfied with the resource fair.
  • Useful Resources: Attendees found the information and resources they received to be helpful, with 91% rating them as extremely or very useful. This tells us that the fair effectively met its goal of connecting people with the resources they needed.

Areas for Improvement:

We also gathered some valuable feedback on areas for improvement.

  • Better Signage: Some attendees suggested better signage to make it easier to navigate the fair.
  • Centralized Activities: A few attendees recommended having more centralized activities for easier access.
  • Language Barriers: Minor language barriers were noted, which we are committed to addressing in future events.

I thought everything was well put together. I appreciated the free tasting/recipes and especially liked the performer/singer. Thank you! Oh also really appreciate the resources for pets.”

Overall, the survey results confirmed that our resource fair is an event that effectively serves our community, but there is always room for growth. We are grateful to all our partners who shared information about their resources, as well as everyone who attended and took the time to share their thoughts. Your feedback is important as we plan future events to ensure they are even more successful and impactful.

Mark your calendar for next year, the Annual Community Food Share Resource Fair will be held May 10, 2025.

Thank you to all our partners, volunteers, and community members who made the 2024 Resource Fair a success. We look forward to seeing you next time and continuing to support our community together!
