Support for Neighbors Impacted by the Federal Government Shutdown

We know accepting help can be a humbling experience, but if you or someone you know is in need of food assistance during this stressful time, our staff and volunteers are here to help. Community Food Share’s programs offer fresh produce, dairy, and pantry items free of charge. Ways to Receive Food Assistance

Visit a Mobile Pantry

We currently offer mobile pantries at outdoor locations in Broomfield and Longmont. You may visit each site twice a month.

Enroll in The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)

Eligibility for The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is based on your combined gross household income. As a furloughed federal employee, the change in your current monthly, combined gross household income may make you newly eligible to receive TEFAP food, available at our facility in Louisville, as well as several partner agencies.

Your current combined monthly household income must not exceed:

  • One-Person Household: $2,023
  • Two-Person Household: $2,743
  • Three-Person Household: $3,463
  • Four-Person Household: $4,183
  • Five-Person Household: $4,903
  • Six-Person Household: $5,623
  • For each additional family member, add approximately: $720

For example: You are a federal employee and your spouse works for a non-government entity, making $4,000 per month. You have two children living in your home, so you are a four-person household. You are furloughed, and your spouse’s income is not affected. Your current combined gross household income is $4,000 per month (your current income of $0 per month + your spouse’s income of $4,000 per month). In this scenario, you are now eligible to receive TEFAP food.
