Let’s Bag Hunger Fund & Food Drive

November 8-10

Join Community Food Share for the 35th annual Let’s Bag Hunger Fund & Food Drive, founded by the Daily Camera. This event stocks the pantry shelves of more than 40 non-profits in Boulder and Broomfield Counties, including food pantries, meal programs, housing support services, and youth programs. Community Food Share provides food to these partners at no cost, because every dollar they save on food can be devoted to assistance with housing, healthcare, education, and other basic needs. Together, we better serve the neighbors who rely on us. Together, we can help bag hunger.

We’d love for you to give your time to help with our fund and food drive! We have various volunteer shifts available for you:

Store Greeter*

What: Store Greeters encourage shoppers to give monetary gifts and purchase food items to donate. They are stationed at the entrances of select King Soopers stores in Boulder and Louisville (see map).

When: Shifts are 2-2.5 hours long, offered between 3:45-8:00 PM on Friday, November 8 and 9:45 AM-6:00 PM on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10.

Food Transporter

What: Food Transporters load food donations into our trucks and assist with store greeting in-between. We’re looking for strong volunteers (ages 16+), because this activity requires walking up stairs and lifting bags of canned and other non-perishable food items.

When: Shifts are 2-2.5 hours long, offered between 3:45-8:00 PM on Friday, November 8 and 9:45 AM-6:00 PM on Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10.

*If you’d like to reserve store greeter shifts for your corporate or community group, please call our volunteer department at (303) 591-0516. Volunteer sign-up is on a first come, first served basis. We are thrilled to receive such great support from local groups; however, due to the high volume of interest, we cannot guarantee that your desired shift and store location will be available.
