Elder Share
Elder Share is designed to supplement the food budgets of low-income senior citizens. We deliver bags of food twice a month to neighborhood sites throughout Boulder & Broomfield county, where it is then distributed to Elder Share members. Members who are homebound receive home delivery. We presently have approximately 800 members participating. This initiative is primarily staffed by volunteers, some of whom are also members.
A typical bag may include fresh produce, canned food, rice, pasta, cereal, bread or juice. This extra food is vital to the members, who say that it helps them make it to the end of the month. Elder Share members can also get nutritious CSFP government commodities through their membership. Follow this link to a letter from a grateful recipient.
Eligibility requirements for Elder Share are: 60 years or older. The income level for a single person must not exceed $1127/month. If you or a family member would like to sign up for this program, please call the Elder Share Coordinator at (303) 652-1307.
If you would like to help us with this rewarding and worthwhile effort, please see our Volunteer page.
Letter from a former Elder Share member:
"It is great work you do. I did receive Food Share for many years.
Rain or snow - or sunshine - they never ever miss delivery, and were kind considerate people - that did care what they were doing.
I did recently cancel delivery - at least for now - I am OK - and grateful that we have such help when needed.
Thank You" |

"Anyone who thinks there's no lonely or hungry people in Boulder County should help with Elder Share deliveries!"
